If you live in the United States you know how important your financial credit can be. For the sake of free flow of information, please note that http://www.annualcreditreport.com is the only government approved website for attaining your free credit report with no strings attached. You are allowed to access one report from each of the three credit agencies free of charge once per year (which means three free credit reports per year).
Please also note that you will have to pay extra for your credit score, which will usually be around $15.
For future reference, you can find this information in the Credit & Privacy section of our Resources page.

I used this service not too long ago and it’s fairly straight forward and absolutely free – as it is claimed. Aside from getting my credit score (over 700!), I was also made aware at who exactly were making the inquiries to my credit history, which explained all those ‘pre-approved’ credit card offers in the mail. Now, if I can only figure out how to stop them from sending those annoying letters to me.
Thanks – though, to be completely honest, they’ve been noticeably absent from my mailbox these past few months… which doesn’t bother me the least bit but yeah.
